With the combination of my Internship and my classes, I'm not finding much free time these days.  So I probably won't be getting on here very often for a while.  I'll still check in on messages and journals when I can, but it will likely be sporadic.

The big 30.

0 min read
Well, my 30th birthday has finally arrived.  It weirded me out a bit yesterday, but I'm cool with it now.  I don't really have any plans for it though, just going to sit home and enjoy a nice day off.  And then tomorrow I'll go pick out a nice set of dentures and a good sturdy walker :P

Hey pally, haven't seen you around in a long time! Hope you're doing ok, good luck! ;)
I miss you, frankly, a lot.
I can't believe you're still using that icon. xD
Hope you're doing well.
I haven't talked to you in.... who knows how long? =(
I know
I was just thinking about you the other day. I miss our talks :(

School is almost over for me. I've got one more week of classes, and then finals week. My graduation ceremony is on the 17th. I'm beyond excited about getting out of college and having a life again. I don't know for sure how much time I'll have for the first year or two, as I'll likely have a lot of learning to do for my first job. But at least it's a massive step in the right direction. I'm hoping I'll get a job that I can manage without outside study at all, but we'll see. It will be interesting to see where things go. Maybe I'll even get to start drawing again :)

So how are things with you?
I know, though we've known each other for a very long time.

I've graduated high school, and I'm just waiting around until I can get the things I need (I am dependent on others for transport on account that I lack any sort of driving skills) to start the oh so exciting life of college. In hindsight, I feel that college will be more enjoyable than my high school years, mainly because it's something I can take more seriously.

Other than that, I have been up to very little; attempting to write, playing good games. I have to say out of every single game I have ever played, Silent Hill 2 is one of my top five, with it's absolutely creative way of telling a rather simple story. It was also the game in which Pyramid Head had any actual importance--anything else that features him is just fan service. I like the game because it blends every aspect of it into a beautiful whole. I am not sure if you are familiar with the game itself, but I recommend it if you aren't.
Oh, wow, congrats on graduating high school

College is much better then high school in many ways. It gets to be a lot harder, but that is to be expected. The nicest aspect is the maturity level of your classmates, as compared to HS. Granted, the Greeks tend to stay stuck in the HS mentality, but everyone else is much more pleasant. Have any plans on what kind of degree you are wanting to go for, and/or what college you want to go to?

How has the writing gone? Has it gotten back to where you can enjoy it again?

Ahh games, my long lost friend. Hehe, haven't had much time for those over the last couple of years. Looking forward to that again for sure. Have to get a job and thereby some $ first though. Though I do have a PS2 and a crappy laptop to play old stuff on. That will have to do for now I guess.
I've played Silent Hill before, a couple of years ago, but I've never played the second one. I'll find a copy. I'll be looking for something to play anyway.

Played any other good PS2 games lately?

I've been kind of getting into Indie computer games lately. There are 2 in particular that I absolutely love. You might want to give them a try.

The first one is Spelunky. I was absolutely obsessed with this game for months. It is an old school side scroller adventure game. All the levels are randomly generated, so it's different every time you play. You only get one life, and you die constantly, especially for the first couple of weeks, but oddly enough, that winds up being half the fun sometimes. It's hard to explain why the game is so much fun, but it is highly addictive. And it's free :)

Another really good game that I've recently found is Cave Story. It is like a cross between Mega Man and Metroid. It's not as replayable as Spelunky is, but it is still really fun, and quite addictive. And it is also free.
